Alpha and Omega

Alpha and Omega

When I was in high school, I took a class where we could design and print our own t-shirts. I absolutely loved that class. There was something so special about taking an idea, turning it into artwork, and then seeing it come to life on a shirt you could actually wear.

One of the shirts I remember making was centered around Revelation 1:8:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

I honestly do not remember exactly why I was so drawn to that passage at the time. Maybe it was the strength of the words. Maybe it was the reminder of God’s eternal presence. Maybe it simply stood out to me in a way I could not fully explain back then.

I no longer have that original shirt. It was given to a friend years ago, but the memory of it has stayed with me. Ever since, I have wanted to create a new shirt with that same message.

This design is my new version of that original idea.

It is very different from the first shirt I made in high school, but I love how it turned out. The vintage feel gives it a timeless look, which feels fitting for a message that is truly everlasting.

Revelation 1:8 is one of those verses that invites you to pause and marvel. God describes Himself as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Before anything existed, He was already there. Long after everything we know has faded, He will still remain. There is comfort in knowing that our lives are held by the One who is not limited by time, circumstance, fear, or uncertainty.

The phrase “who is, and who was, and who is to come” is such a beautiful reminder of God’s presence in every season. He is not only the God of the past, working through stories we read in Scripture. He is not only the God of the future, holding eternity in His hands. He is also the God of right now. Present in ordinary days. Near in difficult moments. Faithful when life feels clear, and faithful when it does not.

And then the verse ends with “the Almighty.” That word carries so much strength. It reminds us that God is not fragile, distant, or unsure. He is sovereign. He is steady. He is powerful enough to carry what we cannot. In a world that constantly changes, this verse points us back to the One who never does.

That is what I love about this message. It feels ancient and deeply personal at the same time. It is a declaration of who God has always been, but it also meets us right where we are today.

This shirt is more than just a design to me. It is a full-circle moment, a piece of my past brought forward with fresh meaning, and a message I am grateful to share again. A reminder that God is the beginning and the end, present in every season, and faithful through all of it.
